Liberal minded family relocating from Boston to Ann Arbor needs a full time nanny/educator for their 9 month old daughter and 4 year old son. M-F 9am-6pm. July 15th start date. Mom starts her new job on August 1st, so 1-2 weeks of shadowing/training before that is ideal. 9 month-1 year long job commitment (possibly longer). 2 weeks paid vacation, holiday pay, OT, 7-8 days sick time all to be negotiated with specific nanny. $18+ gross
Their son was previously in a Spanish immersion preschool, so someone who is bilingual would be preferred. 3 years + prior nanny experience required. Must have a great driving record, but the family prefers nanny to use their car on pre-approved short trips. This family hopes to eventually put their son back in preschool, but unsure on timing. For at least 3-6 months the nanny will have both children. When 4 yo goes back to school their nanny will only have the baby. Their new house is only a mile away from the AA Hands On Museum!
Dad works from home, and Mom works in clinic setting. Someone comfortable with both of those variables is required. Family is doing Skype/Zoom interviews first and has the month of July to meet candidates in person. They currently have a full time nanny, and are so sad to be leaving her in Boston. They also had a live-in au pair from Columbia for 2 years when their son was a baby. They had a wonderful relationship with her, and still keep in touch.
This family hopes to find a nanny who feels very comfortable in their house, and wants to have an open line of communication. A nanny who can help their son clean up after himself, teach him manners, while still having fun is ideal. Meal prep for the children is required, and they family gives preference for candidates who are comfortable doing basic meal prep for the family 2 or 3 days a week. They have an older lab/pit mix who was a rescue dog. She is friendly, but can't be trusted around other animals, as she was not properly socialized with other dogs.
This family has tons of learning materials and arts and crafts to create with. They are open to suggestions/ideas from the nanny. Someone with experience in the school setting, or with creating activities for a preschooler is preferred. Candidates must have all vaccinations including flu shot. They are a multi-faith home, and hope to find an open minded nanny who can become part of their family.
