Part Time Infant in Troy

Location: Troy, MI (16 and Coolidge)

Family Overview:

We are a warm, collaborative family seeking a dedicated and attentive nanny for our 6-month-old son, Ezra. As we transition and expand our professional schedules, we are looking for a long-term partner in care who is eager to grow with our family. We value open communication, developmental engagement, and a supportive, team-oriented approach to childcare.Child Profile

Ezra is a happy, active 6-month-old who is currently working on crawling and hitting developmental milestones. He is social and curious, and we prioritize a caregiver who can provide one-on-one engagement without the distraction of screens or personal phone use.Role & Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is the well-being and development of Ezra.

Engagement: Provide active, attentive care. We value eye contact, talking to Ezra, and facilitating his development through play and interaction.

Schedule Management: Maintain consistent nap, feeding, and awake-time schedules. We utilize the Huckleberry app to track his daily rhythm and appreciate a nanny who is collaborative in adjusting these routines as he grows.

Dietary Care: Assist with bottle feeding (breastmilk/formula) and the introduction of purees and solid foods. We follow a mostly whole-foods diet and are happy to collaborate on meal choices.

Light Tidying: Keep the play areas and child-related spaces orderly. Responsibilities include sanitizing bottles (Baby Brezza) and basic tidying up of child-related messes.

Safety: Prioritize child safety at all times. We require CPR/First Aid certification.

Schedule & Flexibility

Initial Hours: 2--6 PM, Tuesday and Thursday.

Future Growth: We are open to increasing hours as our work ramp-up progresses. We anticipate moving to four half-days or two full days in the near future (within the next 3 months).

Commitment: We are looking for a long-term candidate who is excited to support our family as we potentially grow in the future.

Compensation & Benefits

Rate: $25--$30/hour.

Benefits:

7 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) annually.

Guaranteed hours for all scheduled shifts.

Paid holidays if they fall on a scheduled workday.

Professional development stipend for continuing education.

Environment: We provide a comfortable, welcoming space. You are welcome to snacks and food provided in the home.

Requirements

Experience: 24+ years of age; previous infant experience required.

Mindset: A "safety-first" approach is essential. We value a calm, gentle temperament over a loud or high-energy style.

Hygiene: We are conscious of germ exposure. While we do not require specific vaccinations (COVID/Flu), we seek a hygienic, conscientious candidate who communicates openly when feeling unwell.

Attitude: We are looking for a collaborative partner. We read widely on parenting and appreciate a nanny who is open to exchanging tips and research-backed methods.

Household Details

Pets: We have two cats (Izzy and Fitz) who are passive and keep to themselves.

Home Environment: We have a dedicated play area. While we are currently settling into our new home, the environment is comfortable and child-focused.

Surveillance: There are cameras present in common living areas (mainly for pet monitoring).

Contract: A formal work agreement will be provided.
